Review of the Bayswater-Rhodes Hotel in London

The fourth place I stayed while in London (following the Windmill Inn in Cricklewood, The Yotel at Heathrow, the Club Quarters in Central London) is the Bayswater-Rhodes Hotel.

The room I was in a regular hotel room, but SMALL. That's okay, I don't need much.  In comparison to the Windmill Guest House, it had all the hotel norms; soap, a hair-dryer, desk, full length mirror, phone in the room, etc.

The most difficult part was the walking up the narrow staircase to room #248 -- on the 4th floor.  Be aware that the room numbers don't correlate to floor, at least in this hotel.  In this case, the larger the number, the higher the floor.  The low-200's are on the 2nd floor and I think it topped out at #250.  Climbing those stairs got my heart moving, but it wasn't too bad.  If you are in bad shape, have a bad back, etc, you don't want to be in #248.  There is no lift.

Also, I'm not sure but it seems like some of the rooms might not have toilets. There was a male/female toilet on the first landing, and it was in use often when I went by, so it might be the less-expensive rooms feature beds, maybe showers, but not toilets.  Usually Londoners say the room is "en suite" if there is a toilet in the room.  Look for that.  Personally a toilet in the room is less of an issue for me than a private shower, but I'd pay a little extra for a toilet if I knew I had the option.
